What if...You could lead your patrons through the maze of medical jargon
to understandable health information? You would be a star! According to the
Center for Disease Control, nearly 9 out of 10 adults have difficulty
understanding health information. This includes people who are well read.
This interactive lecture will provide librarians with the tools needed to help patrons (and themselves) understand medical jargon, from disease specific terms and tests, to insurance terms and health care provider specialties.
Sponsor: PSD This program is worth 1 contact hour of continuing education.
