Do you want to gain skills to use digital history sources and develop local
history projects that will open up new programming
opportunities? Do you want to help your patrons
connect their interest in genealogy to broader social,
cultural, and political history? This workshop will
introduce you to Creating Local Linkages, a free online
professional development curriculum offering training
in historical research methods and digital skills, including
using Omeka for online publishing. Learn about the
challenges of doing local history and how to approach
them from practicing public historians. Get ideas for programming that creates community history and develops digital literacy.
